Delhi traffic curbs planned from 11am to 3pm for BRICS motorcade rehearsal

Delhi Traffic Police will regulate traffic across parts of central Delhi from 11am to 3pm on September 1 for a full-scale BRICS Summit motorcade rehearsal.

The affected corridors include Sardar Patel Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, Teen Murti Marg, Akbar Road, Mathura Road, Janpath, Ashoka Road, Barakhamba Road, Tolstoy Marg, Africa Avenue Road and Shanti Path, among others. Drivers should follow diversion signs and directions from traffic personnel.

Buses may be diverted during motorcade movements. Taxis and auto-rickshaws could also face temporary rerouting, and roadside parking is prohibited within 200 metres of controlled roads except at authorised facilities. Non-destined commercial vehicles will not be allowed to enter Delhi during the restriction period.

Metro services will continue normally, police said. Emergency medical vehicles and essential-service vehicles will receive priority passage. The rehearsal follows traffic-diversion preparations for the BRICS summit at Bharat Mandapam.
