Delhi woman alleges Rapido rider ignored requests to stop; she jumped from scooter

A woman travelling towards Vishwavidyalaya said she jumped from a moving Rapido scooter after its rider allegedly took her through an isolated area and refused repeated requests to stop.

In a video shared on social media, she said she had booked the ride from her office. The rider allegedly told her that Vishwavidyalaya was straight ahead as the scooter moved towards a deserted stretch. She said she grew suspicious, asked him to stop and offered extra money, but he continued riding.

The woman said she tried to make the rider stop herself before jumping off the scooter. She reported injuries to her hand and head and said she was going to a doctor.

She has asked Rapido to share the rider’s details so she can approach the authorities. The allegation follows an earlier account of the same journey.
