DU spot round opens with 13,433 undergraduate seats still vacant

Delhi University has listed 13,433 vacant undergraduate seats for its 2026-27 Spot Round, giving eligible applicants another chance to secure a place after earlier allocation rounds.

The vacancies cover 1,160 college-programme combinations. OBC-NCL has the largest pool with 4,133 seats, followed by ST with 2,476, unreserved with 2,113, SC with 2,038 and EWS with 1,791. There are also 566 Sikh and 316 Christian category seats.

At Hindu College, 29 seats remain across 11 programmes, including Economics, B.Com (Hons.), Physics and Philosophy. Hansraj College has 79 seats across 19 programmes, including Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics and Electronics. SRCC has vacancies in Economics and B.Com (Hons.).

The largest single programme-level gap is at Swami Shardhanand College, where B.Com has 145 open seats. B.Sc. (Pass) Home Science has 131 vacancies at the Institute of Home Economics and 101 at Lady Irwin College.

DU has said the figures may change after reconciliation, cancellations and grievance redressal. Withdrawals will remain suspended during the Spot Round, whose August 23-29 schedule was announced earlier.
