Five Bengaluru Ganesh pandals keeping the festival programme going
From Basavanagudi to Brookefield, several Ganeshotsava venues in Bengaluru are continuing with décor, aartis and cultural programmes.
Bengaluru Ganesh Utsava is holding its 64th edition at APS College Grounds in Basavanagudi, while pandals in Brookefield, Agara, Jayanagar and Wilson Garden offer other places to visit. The Jayanagar celebration, hosted by Sri Vinayaka Mithra Mandali since 1982, includes devotional music and classical dance alongside pujas.
The 64th Bengaluru Ganesh Utsava at APS College Grounds in Basavanagudi is among the city’s larger continuing Ganesh celebrations, with music, dance and devotional programmes on its schedule.
In east Bengaluru, the AECS Ganesh Pandal in Brookefield has put up an outdoor decorative installation with a Maharashtrian-style festival atmosphere. Agara Ganesh Utsav features a large, baby-faced Ganesha idol, while Wilson Garden’s celebration is centred on elaborate decorations and a richly designed idol.
Sri Vinayaka Mithra Mandali in Jayanagar has held Ganeshotsava since 1982. Along with pujas and aartis, its programme includes devotional musical evenings, classical dance, singing and other cultural events.
Residents visiting temporary festival venues may also want to note the city’s power-safety requirements: pandal organisers were asked to obtain a no-objection certificate before seeking temporary BESCOM power.
