Gurgaon Civil Hospital plans trauma unit with 32-cylinder oxygen system

Gurgaon’s Sector 10 Civil Hospital has proposed a dedicated trauma care facility with a 32-cylinder oxygen manifold for emergency and surgical treatment.

The manifold would have two banks of 16 cylinders each. An automatic changeover system would shift supply to the reserve bank when the primary bank is exhausted, while visual and audible alerts would indicate that a bank has been depleted.

The proposed unit would also have ductable air conditioning with HEPA filters, air curtains and pneumatic doors. Its specifications include sealed, insulated internal ducting for an operation theatre and a medical-grade electrical isolation system linked to the theatre control panel to detect leakage and faults in individual circuits.

The hospital has separately proposed a 30-minute ICU power backup.
