Gurgaon seals councillor-owned PG as DLF Phase 3 drive targets stilt-parking rooms

A 28-room paying guest accommodation in DLF Phase 3 was sealed on Tuesday after town planning officials said it was operating from a building owned by a local councillor and had two extra floors beyond its sanctioned stilt-plus-two structure.

At W-12/9, the enforcement team demolished rooms and other structures built across about 500sqm of stilt parking in a stilt-plus-four building on a nearly 1,000-square-yard plot. The space had been converted into a projector room, bar room, bedroom, drawing room, lift lobby and toilets. Floor owners told officials the builder had built and sold the parking-area spaces.

The team also sealed a 10-room guesthouse at W-5/31, where a dry-cleaning and laundry operation was running from the basement, and sealed 36 rooms nearing completion at Maulsari-62. It cleared encroachments along about 1.5km of road right of way and removed four guard rooms from road land.

Town planner Amit Madholia said stilt parking must remain available for vehicles, except for limited permitted construction. The action follows an earlier DLF Phase 3 enforcement drive targeting rooms built in parking areas.
