Police investigate alleged sexual assault of 17-year-old at Aastha Kunj Park

A 17-year-old has alleged that three men sexually assaulted her inside Aastha Kunj Park in Kalkaji on September 21, after approaching her and a male friend while they were sitting near Gate No. 7.

The teenager told police that the pair had visited Kalkaji Mandir and bought chips and water near Kalkaji Metro Station before entering the park. She alleged that three men, who appeared to be in their 30s, claimed to be police officers, took their phones and separated her from her friend.

In her complaint, she alleged that the men threatened them with weapons and took her to a secluded part of the park. She said the men later returned their phones, told the pair to leave and threatened them against speaking about what had happened. Her friend then called the police control room.

Amar Colony police have registered a case under relevant Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act provisions. Teams are examining CCTV footage from the area and working to identify and apprehend the men.
