Delhi–Meerut Expressway traffic slows ahead of Raksha Bandhan

Traffic slowed on the Delhi–Meerut Expressway on Wednesday evening as people travelled to meet relatives and visited markets ahead of Raksha Bandhan.

Congestion was reported between Noida Sector 62 and Dasna. Roads through Ghaziabad and around Noida–Greater Noida also saw queues. Pushkar, a daily commuter, said a four-kilometre stretch took him 35 to 40 minutes, compared with his usual 10 to 15 minutes.

Ghaziabad Traffic Police said personnel were managing festival-related traffic pressure at Lal Kuan. Motorists can call the traffic helpline at 9643322904.

Travellers heading from Ghaziabad towards Meerut can use connectors before Dasna for the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. The old highway via Muradnagar and Modinagar is another route. NCRTC is also running 47 additional Namo Bharat services on August 27 and 28, with trains scheduled every eight minutes.
