South East Delhi saw the steepest voter-roll reduction at 43.61%

South East Delhi has recorded the sharpest reduction in Delhi’s draft electoral roll, with 43.61% of names excluded during the Special Intensive Revision.

The citywide draft roll lists 97.53 lakh electors, down from 1.45 crore before the exercise. Of the 47.56 lakh excluded names, 43.32 lakh were categorised as permanently shifted or absent, 2.82 lakh as dead, and 1.41 lakh as duplicates or entries enrolled at more than one location.

New Delhi district recorded a 39.02% reduction and South Delhi 38.64%. Central Delhi stood at 38.01%, while North and East Delhi recorded reductions of 35.78% and 35.59%, respectively. Outer North had the lowest rate, at 24.32%.

The draft roll includes 48.9 lakh men, 47.6 lakh women and 447 third-gender electors. Delhi’s overall 32.8% reduction is higher than the other states and Union Territories included in the comparison. As the draft roll figures show, these are not final exclusions: people whose names are missing can submit claims or objections for inclusion or correction before the final roll is issued.
