A sip-and-paint session at Starbucks Reserve in Aerocity invited children and adults to remake Vincent van Gogh’s ‘The Starry Night’ in their own colours.
Participants worked on pre-drawn canvases with guidance from visual artist Pavani Nagpal K Chhabra and her team. The session also included a guided tasting of Starbucks’ festive coffee range.
A four-year-old participant at an Aerocity painting session said she wanted to become an artist.
At Starbucks Reserve, children painting with parents and adult attendees reimagined Vincent van Gogh’s 1889 work *The Starry Night* on pre-drawn canvases. The familiar blue swirls gave way to yellow skies, green grasslands and other personal versions as participants used supplied palettes and painting materials.
Visual artist Pavani Nagpal K Chhabra and her team moved around the room, helping with brushstrokes and painting techniques while leaving colour and composition choices open. “Your sky could be any colour you want,” Nagpal said.
Nagpal described painting as a way for people to put feelings and imagination on canvas. She said Van Gogh’s work was chosen because it is widely recognised and because of his commitment to making art on his own terms.
Alongside the workshop, attendees sampled Starbucks’ festive coffee range in a guided exercise on smelling and tasting coffee.
