Centre reviews Gurugram Metro project as rain disrupts traffic

Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu reviewed Gurugram’s Millennium City Centre–Cyber City Metro Connectivity Project on Tuesday as heavy rain flooded roads and disrupted traffic across the city.

The planned Metro route includes a spur to Dwarka Expressway and is being implemented by Gurugram Metro Rail Limited. Officials briefed Sahu on planning, implementation and coordination between agencies. He called for bottlenecks to be resolved so the project can progress on time.

The review also covered AMRUT 2.0 and CITIIS 2.0. Under AMRUT 2.0, 394 sewerage projects worth about ₹47,230 crore are under implementation nationally, the ministry said.

In Gurugram, the review follows sewer expansion plans in four areas and continued waterlogging near the Dwarka Expressway underpass.
