The monthly average was 105 in 2025 and 2024, 108 in 2023 and 104 in 2022. During the month, light rain kept Delhi’s AQI at 55 on September 6, while the city recorded an AQI of 53 after overnight rain on September 28.
Across January to September, Delhi-NCR logged 194 days with a daily average AQI below 200, the Commission for Air Quality Management said. The count was 187 days in 2025, 188 in 2024, 193 in 2023 and 146 in 2022.
The commission said it was working with stakeholders on measures to prevent, control and reduce air pollution across Delhi-NCR.
