Onkar Gurav wins inaugural singles title at Mumbai Pickleball Cup, Malad

Onkar Gurav became the first singles champion of the Mumbai Pickleball Cup, beating Swapnil Dabreo 11-6, 11-9 in the final at Stratum Play in Malad West on September 27.

The one-day Season 2 competition featured 82 matches across men’s doubles, mixed doubles and singles. Organisers added the singles category after the first season sold out. Dabreo reached the final with an 11-8, 9-11, 13-11 semi-final win over Seaon.

Yash Joshi and Rajesh Menon won the men’s doubles title 23-21 against Shreyas Hadkar and Abizzar. Hadkar returned for the mixed doubles final with Bhakti, and the pair beat Menon and Kadambari Patil 11-9, 9-11, 11-8.

The event had a total prize pool of ₹30,000, split across categories, with trophies for winners and medals for finalists. Organisers said players’ points will carry through the monthly league season before a Champions Cup in August 2027, and Season 3 is tentatively scheduled for the last Sunday of October.
