MCG says it sterilised 2,615 dogs, vaccinated 7,028 in Gurugram

MCG says it sterilised 2,615 stray dogs and vaccinated 7,028 across Gurugram in the 11 months to September 25 through its area-by-area animal-management programme.

The civic body reported 100% sterilisation and vaccination coverage in Kanhai, Wazirabad, Ashok Vihar Phases 1, 2 and 3, Silokhera, Saini Khera and Chakkarpur. It also listed Sectors 4, 5, 10, 10A, 12, 12A, 15 Parts 1 and 2, 27, 28, 30, 31, 38, 40, 41, 44 to 47, and 52 as covered.

Separately, MCG teams had captured and tagged 1,248 roaming animals, including cattle, by September 25, commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said. The tags are intended to identify captured animals and maintain monitoring records.

Campaigns are continuing in other parts of the city, Dahiya said, with teams expanding coverage in phases.
