Delhi announces ₹214 crore road and drainage works in 27 unauthorised colonies

Kirari, Bawana, Mundka, Narela and Nangloi Jat are set to receive 53 road and drainage projects worth ₹214.1 crore, the Delhi government said.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta laid foundation stones for the works under the Seva Sankalp campaign. The projects cover 1,062 roads and lanes in 27 unauthorised colonies, with plans for about 89.82 km of roads and 147.69 km of drainage network. Around 1.75 lakh residents are expected to benefit.

Kirari has the largest allocation: 27 projects worth ₹105.51 crore across 14 colonies. The works include 640 roads and lanes, 101.42 km of drainage lines and a proposed stormwater drainage network intended to reduce waterlogging.

Bawana is to receive nine projects worth ₹38.83 crore, while Mundka has five projects worth ₹22.05 crore. Four projects worth ₹14.48 crore are planned in Narela, and Nangloi Jat has eight projects valued at ₹33.25 crore.
