Gurgaon weather: IMD forecasts rain and thunderstorms on Sunday

Patchy drizzle reached parts of Gurgaon around 6 pm on Saturday, ending a mostly cloudy day that pulled temperatures down from Friday’s levels.

NorthCap University recorded a maximum of 29.8°C, against 33.9°C a day earlier. Minimum temperatures also fell: Gurgaon KVK recorded 21.9°C, NorthCap University 22.6°C and Gurgaon AWS 20.5°C.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain at many places in Haryana on Sunday, with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph possible at isolated locations. Heavy rain has been forecast for isolated parts of Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Sonipat and Panipat.

For Gurgaon, maximum temperatures are expected to stay around 31-32°C over the next two days, while minimums may range from 23°C to 25°C. The weather system, linked to a depression moving towards southeast Uttar Pradesh, is expected to weaken from Monday. Daytime temperatures could reach 35°C from Tuesday.
