Greater Noida students debate trade and AI at Viksit Bharat MUN

More than 100 students from 14 schools stepped into the roles of World Trade Organization member-country representatives at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida.

The Viksit Bharat Model United Nations, held during the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2026, brought together Class 9 to 12 students for discussions on trade agreements, supply chains, e-commerce, automation and artificial intelligence. Before presenting their positions, participants studied the economic conditions and trade policies of the countries they represented.

The programme’s theme was ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’. Students debated subjects including the Trade Facilitation Agreement, rules of origin and the moratorium on digital trade, while practising negotiation, research, public speaking and consensus-building.

Participants also visited pavilions showcasing Uttar Pradesh’s industry, investment, exports, technology, handicrafts, culture and heritage. Awards for Best Delegate, High Commendation and Special Mention were given to selected students, while all participants received certificates.

Chandra Shekhar, District Inspector of Schools, Gautam Buddha Nagar, delivered the welcome address. Sudha Singh, principal of Ryan International School, Greater Noida, honoured him at the event.
