Delhi: Bombay Rockers’ Naf on the ‘Ari Ari’ remake and new music

Navtej Singh Rehal, the Bombay Rockers singer known as Naf, said the remake of the group’s 2003 song ‘Ari Ari’ has drawn him back to recording music.

Speaking at a Denmark Day event in New Delhi, Rehal said composer Shashwat Sachdev remade the song for the film *Dhurandhar: The Revenge*. He said he had considered retiring a year ago, but the song’s return prompted him to make music again.

“After *Dhurandhar*, I’ve got this urge to make music again,” Rehal said. He said he has recorded new tracks and plans to release them by the end of 2026.

Rehal’s parents are from Delhi, and he said he spent part of his childhood in Malviya Nagar. Though based in Denmark, he said he spends much of the year in India, largely between October and March, for performances and family visits.

Chaat and golgappe are among his first stops after landing in Delhi, he said. At home in Denmark, aloo de paranthe are a fixed Sunday meal.

Rehal said his new recordings are scheduled for release by the end of the year.
