Gurugram SPR water supply to be partly shut for 48 hours from September 30

Water supply in sectors along Gurugram’s Southern Peripheral Road will be partly disrupted for 48 hours from 9am on September 30, as GMDA connects the existing network to the Sector 72 boosting station.

The partial shutdown of supply from the Sector 51 boosting station is scheduled to continue until 9am on October 2. Sectors 47 to 51, sectors 57 to 75 and Badshapur village may be affected. GMDA has advised residents to use water carefully from September 29 to October 2.

The work will connect the network at Almeda Chowk to a 1,500mm pipeline leading to Sector 72. The new station is intended to supply sectors 58 to 74 and reduce demand on the Sector 51 system.

The Sector 72 station has a planned capacity of 283 million litres a day, against a current requirement of around 100 MLD in the area. GMDA expects to commission the station by October 2 and begin supplying the area after the shutdown. Some newer SPR sectors currently depend on the Sector 51 station, and some housing societies use private tankers during peak summer demand.
