Delhi EWS school admissions move to document verification after draw

Delhi’s first computerised draw for 2026–27 EWS/Freeship admissions has been completed, moving selected applicants into the document-verification stage.

The process covers available seats in Classes II onwards at private unaided recognised schools on land allotted by the DDA or the government; minority schools are excluded. Applicants chosen in the September 24 draw will get their allotted school and verification-centre details by SMS. They can also check results on the Directorate of Education and EWS admission portals with their registration ID and password.

Families must take the application form, Aadhaar cards, residence and date-of-birth proofs, a valid income certificate or eligible ration/food security card, and the previous year’s marksheet to the verification centre. Candidates cleared at this stage will be recommended to their allotted school and must report there by October 31.

Those who miss verification or do not join the school within the deadline will lose their candidature. The DoE has set October 5 to 8 as a final scrutiny window for selected candidates who initially do not report. Schools cannot charge tuition fees and must provide books, uniforms and writing material within a week of admission.
