Jamia clears 13 one-year PG programmes through online and distance learning

Jamia Millia Islamia has approved 13 one-year postgraduate programmes for the 2026-27 academic year, to be run through its Centre of Distance and Online Education.

The new slate includes MA programmes in Education, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Human Resource Management, Islamic Studies, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology and Urdu. The other two programmes are an MBA and a Master of Commerce.

The university said the courses will be offered through open and distance learning and online learning modes, in line with provisions of the National Education Policy 2020 and applicable University Grants Commission regulations.

Registrar Md Mahtab Alam Rizvi issued the approval on behalf of Jamia’s Academic Council, or Majlis-i-Talimi. The Vice-Chancellor’s action will be placed before the council at its next meeting.

Jamia has asked the director of the distance and online education centre to begin implementation. Prospective applicants will need to wait for the university to publish eligibility criteria, admission dates and the application process.
