Bull rescued from drain in Greater Noida; nine monkeys caught in Sector 19

A bull that fell into a 10-foot-deep drain near DPS School in Greater Noida’s Sector Gamma 2 was pulled out by a GNIDA team after a rescue that took nearly two hours.

Passers-by alerted nearby residents, who contacted GNIDA’s public health department. The team used an earthmover to lift the animal from the drain.

In Noida’s Sector 19, a Noida Authority team caught nine monkeys following repeated complaints from the residents’ welfare association. Residents said more than a dozen monkeys had damaged pots, planters and other property, and had injured some people earlier.

Senior manager Kapil Singh oversaw the public health department’s intervention, while animal-capture expert Shankar Sharma led the team that caught the monkeys. Both operations took place on Sunday.
