Delhi University has set a paperless campaign code for the September 18 DUSU election, with a ₹5,000 spending cap for each candidate.

Candidates can submit a video speech of up to 10 minutes for publication on the DU website and use free social-media platforms for campaigning. Printed posters and pamphlets, loudspeakers, vehicles, animals, mascots and costumes are prohibited.

Delhi University students contesting the September 18 DUSU election will have to campaign without printed posters, pamphlets or loudspeakers.

Under the university’s code of conduct, candidates may submit a video electoral speech of no more than 10 minutes to the Chief Election Officer by 2 pm on September 12. Once approved, it will be uploaded to the DU website. Candidates may also use social media available free of cost, while handmade posters remain permitted.

Canvassing is allowed from 8 am to 8 pm. A candidate can be accompanied by no more than four bona fide students on a college campus, and may spend up to ₹5,000. Vehicles, animals, mascots and costumes cannot be used for canvassing.

Contestants must be regular full-time students and meet the university’s attendance requirement: the prescribed minimum or 75%, whichever is higher. Undergraduate candidates must be 17 to 22 years old on August 16; postgraduate candidates can be up to 25.

Polling is scheduled for September 18, with counting on September 19.
