Skeletons, witch hats and spring-loaded spiders are appearing in Gurugram’s markets as schools, housing societies and companies prepare for Halloween on October 31.
Gurugram’s Sector 46 HUDA market, Sadar Bazaar and Galleria Market are selling Halloween decor and costumes before October 31.
Sector 46’s HUDA market has put out skeleton props, pumpkins, bat decorations, witch hats and costumes alongside garlands and lamps ahead of Halloween on October 31.
Seasonal Halloween stock is also available at Sadar Bazaar and Galleria Market. A Sadar Bazaar shop owner said the shop began selling Halloween items in 1990 for multinational companies marking the occasion and now also manages Halloween events for several firms.
Shopkeepers said demand has grown as schools organise Halloween celebrations and children prepare for trick-or-treating and parties. Teenagers in Bestech Park View City are hosting gatherings with friends, while residents of Imperial Garden in Sector 102 described the occasion as an opportunity for children to dress up, collect treats and socialise.
“Shopping picks up just a day or two before Halloween,” a salesperson at the Sector 46 market said.
