Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat daily ridership nearly doubles in a year

Average daily ridership on the 82km Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor rose from 47,745 in July 2025 to 94,936 in July 2026, NCRTC said.

The corridor’s average daily passenger count crossed 100,000 in September, reaching 108,044. NCRTC says Delhi interchange stations, Ghaziabad and Begumpul together account for more than 40% of all trips.

The Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat corridor carried an average 94,936 passengers a day in July 2026, nearly twice the 47,745 recorded in July 2025, according to the National Capital Region Transport Corporation.

By September, average daily ridership had passed 100,000, reaching 108,044. The 82km Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut route has now logged more than 45 million passenger journeys since operations began on the 17km Sahibabad-Duhai Depot priority section in October 2023.

The full corridor began operating in February 2026 after phased extensions to Modinagar North, Meerut South and Delhi. Sarai Kale Khan, New Ashok Nagar and Anand Vihar in Delhi, along with Ghaziabad and Begumpul, account for over 40% of total ridership, NCRTC said. These stations link the service with the Metro, railways, ISBT services and city buses.

For commuters driving to stations, NCRTC said Namo Bharat stops now offer parking for more than 8,000 vehicles. The Namo Bharat Connect app also shows live parking occupancy, intended to help passengers plan their approach to the station. A Ghaziabad last-mile connectivity survey is also underway for Metro and RRTS stations.
