Heavy rain swept parts of Bengaluru in the early hours of October 25, following a night of light to moderate showers.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers across the city over the next 24 hours, with heavy spells possible. Bengaluru is likely to remain generally cloudy, with temperatures expected to range between 21°C and 26°C.

More light to moderate rain or thundershowers are forecast on October 26. The IMD linked the conditions to a system over the east-central and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal that is expected to strengthen into a depression, then a deep depression, before becoming a cyclonic storm over the west-central Bay of Bengal by the morning of October 26.

As of 11 pm on October 24, Bengaluru Traffic Police said only intermittent drizzle had been reported and there were no traffic blocks or waterlogging reports. The developing system is expected to move west-northwest and reach waters off the Andhra Pradesh coast around the morning of October 28.
