The 53rd edition of the calendar was unveiled in New Delhi on October 23 after being photographed entirely in India, a first for the project since its 1964 launch. Norwegian photographer Solve Sundsbo photographed nine figures at sites including Jaigarh Fort in Jaipur and Ajabgarh in Alwar. The images include television host and model Padma Lakshmi in a lily pond, model Lakshmi Menon, and actors Freida Pinto, Aditi Rao Hydari and Avantika Vandanapu.
A second strand was conceived by photographer Raghu Rai, who died in April 2026, and completed by his daughter Avani Rai. She placed prints from his archive in present-day Old Delhi, including Kinari Bazar and Yamuna Ghat, and photographed them alongside more than 200 local residents, performers, artisans and children.
The India edition also features sitar player Anoushka Shankar and poet Rupi Kaur. Avani Rai's Old Delhi photographs include Kinari Bazar and Yamuna Ghat.
