Mahim Chowpatty’s seafood plaza reopened on October 24 after its monsoon break, bringing its evening food stalls back to the waterfront.
The plaza will operate from 7pm to 11pm every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Its stalls serve seafood and traditional Koli dishes, with seating, lighting, a selfie point and Koli music included in the setup.
Women’s self-help groups run the stalls. The BMC has trained participating members to prepare fish-based products as part of the initiative.
The plaza is located alongside Mahim Chowpatty and presents food traditions associated with Mumbai’s Koli communities. BMC officials, self-help group members, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena leader Yashwant Killedar and actor Kamalakar Satpute attended the reopening.
