Bangalore International Airport Limited has invited bids to resurface the Alfa taxiway at Kempegowda International Airport.

The project involves milling the existing pavement to a depth of 55 to 60 mm across a 7-metre width, followed by the laying and compaction of bituminous concrete. The contractor will begin asphalt production in advance and maintain the required temperature while laying the material.

BIAL said it will schedule the work to limit disruption to airside operations. The project must follow aviation guidelines issued by the DGCA, ICAO and FAA, as well as local environmental norms.

Crews will use high-capacity air compressors and manual wire brushing to clear debris before and after each operational window, reducing the risk of debris reaching aircraft engines.

Work will pause during rain and resume when conditions allow the surface to meet durability and structural requirements. The taxiway will return to service after resurfacing is complete. Work on the airport's elevated Western Crossfield Taxiway is already under way.
