Gurugram: MCG sets October 25 deadline for 31 concrete plants to leave

MCG has begun issuing notices to remove 31 ready-mix concrete plants from its municipal limits by October 25.

MCG has directed 31 ready-mix concrete plants to leave its limits by October 25 and stepped up measures on dust, waste burning and road cleaning.

Thirty-one ready-mix concrete plants must leave MCG limits by October 25 under directions issued by commissioner Pradeep Dahiya as part of Gurugram’s air-pollution control measures.

MCG has begun issuing notices and completing related formalities. Dahiya directed joint commissioners to ensure that no ready-mix concrete plant remains within municipal limits after the deadline.

Ready-mix concrete facilities combine cement, sand, aggregates and water before transporting concrete to construction sites. MCG has also asked officials to check biomass burning and ensure horticultural waste is collected on time to prevent it from being burnt.

Construction sites are under scrutiny as well. Officials have been directed to arrange regular water sprinkling, prevent dust from spreading beyond project boundaries, deep-clean roads and ensure timely waste collection.

Joint commissioners have been asked to increase surveillance in their respective areas before the October 25 deadline.
