Yami Gautam to join Dussehra Ravan Vadh ritual at Delhi’s Red Fort Ground

Yami Gautam will shoot the ceremonial arrow during the Ravan Vadh ritual at the Luv Kush Ramleela at Delhi’s Red Fort Ground on Dussehra, October 20.

The actor will take part in the annual event before spectators at the ground.

This year’s Ramleela theme is “Respect for Women”, said Arjun Kumar, president of the Luv Kush Ramleela Committee. “A woman is not only a symbol of love, compassion and strength but also possesses the courage to stand against injustice and social evils,” he said.

The committee said Gautam’s role in the ritual is intended to represent women’s equal part in the victory of good over evil. It described Ravan as a symbol of arrogance, injustice and social evils.

The committee has invited Delhi residents to attend the October 20 Dussehra celebrations at Red Fort Ground.
