Over nearly three hours, Rahman and a large ensemble performed songs spanning Tamil and Hindi cinema, alongside a Kannada rendition of a Roja song. Singers Vijay Prakash, Jonita Gandhi, Rakshita Suresh, AR Ameen, Adithya RKay, Heer, Nitesh Aher and Raghav Kaushik were among those on stage, with musicians including Ranjit Barot and Ashwin Srinivasan.
The setlist included “Mukkala Mukkabala”, “Roobaroo”, “Roja”, “Munbe Vaa”, “Hosanna”, “Khwaja Mere Khwaja” and “Vande Mataram”. Rahman opened his remarks in Kannada, asking the crowd, “Enu, maja madtha idira?”
He recalled visiting Bengaluru in 1987 and returning after the release of Rangeela in 1995, when he heard its music playing across the city. “You guys recognised what music is,” he told the audience.
