
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta joined students, university staff and MCD personnel for a one-hour clean-up drive across Delhi University’s north campus on October 1.
The walk began with a cleanliness pledge near Gwyer Hall at 8am and ended at Kamla Nehru Ridge, also known as Bonta, at 9am. It formed part of Delhi University’s month-long Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, running from September 17 to October 17.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta joined teachers, students, university officials, cleaning staff, MCD personnel and NSS volunteers at 8am. Participants collected waste along the route before the drive concluded at the ridge, also known as Bonta, at 9am.
The drive was held under the “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” banner and was part of the university’s Swachhata Hi Seva programme, scheduled from September 17 to October 17. The campaign theme is “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat.”
Among those taking part were Timarpur MLA Surya Prakash Khatri, former MCD mayor Raja Iqbal Singh, South Campus director Prof Rajni Abbi, Campus of Open Learning director Prof Payal Mago, campaign nodal officer Prof K P Singh, and North Zone MCD deputy commissioner Shweta Nagarkoti.
Delhi University’s Swachhata Hi Seva programme is scheduled to continue through October 17.
