Western Railway will hold cleanliness and awareness activities from October 1 to 15 at stations, on trains, in colonies and offices.

Western Railway General Manager Ramashray Pandey administered a Swachhata Pledge to officers and staff at the railway’s Churchgate headquarters on October 1, opening Swachhata Pakhwada 2026.

Those taking the pledge committed to spend time on cleanliness, avoid littering and encourage others to keep their surroundings clean. Pandey and staff also signed a campaign board as part of the Swachhata Pakhwada Signature Campaign.

Western Railway will run the programme until October 15 at its stations, on trains, in railway colonies and at offices. Planned activities include Swachh Raths and Prabhat Pheris carrying the message “Swachh Rail, Swachh Bharat”, plantation drives under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, a review of Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 outcomes, and recognition for high-performing units and volunteers.

The programme will also include activities focused on littering and hygiene for passengers across the railway network.
