Animal waste, hotel waste and construction debris were found dumped indiscriminately in parts of Indiranagar and nearby areas during inspections by the Karnataka Lokayukta police team.
The Lokayukta issued notices to senior civic officials over alleged lapses in waste collection and disposal within the Central City Corporation limits. It said the inspections were prompted by concerns about gaps in the city’s waste-management system.
According to the Lokayukta, the problems persisted despite earlier inspections and monitoring. It directed that the GBA Chief Commissioner and the Central Corporation Commissioner be informed.
