Panvel approves water, sewage and sanitation contracts

Panvel Municipal Corporation has approved water-network maintenance, sewage works, fogging and sanitation services, including an interim extension for Kamothe’s 85 MLD treatment plant.

Panvel’s Standing Committee approved water, sewage and sanitation contracts covering the city, 29 villages, Kharghar, Kamothe and Kalamboli.

Panvel Municipal Corporation’s Standing Committee has approved contracts and extensions for water supply, sewage treatment, road sweeping and mosquito-control work across its jurisdiction.

The committee approved a three-year arrangement to operate, maintain and repair the water-supply scheme serving 29 villages outside Panvel city. Water-network maintenance in Panvel city will be handled through a 2+1-year contract.

The panel also approved revised expenditure for the repair and renewal of sewage pipelines in CIDCO-developed Kharghar for two years. At Sector 32 in Kamothe, the existing contractor will continue operating and maintaining the 85 MLD sewage treatment plant until the corporation appoints a new contractor.

The committee cleared mechanical fogging and spraying across Panvel, along with an extension for daily road sweeping, drain cleaning and related sanitation work.

Other approved works include a pumping station and allied infrastructure at Dharan Lake in Kalamboli, security systems at the civic cricket academy, and a special cleanliness drive across municipal limits. Standing Committee chairman Baban Mukadam chaired the meeting.
