Sorena opens on Linking Road in Bandra with five-city menu

Sorena has opened across two floors at Mansionz One on Linking Road, Bandra, with a menu that draws inspiration from Mumbai, New York, Sicily, Tokyo and Istanbul.

Head chef Sachin Kadam’s menu includes Dingri Dolma, made with button mushrooms in tomato purée, garam masala and herbs and served with chur chur paratha. Other dishes include zaatar chicken with hung curd, pickled onion, jalapeño and mint mayo; carrot agrodolce burrata toast with pistachio; rainbow salmon sushi; and a seafood risotto with lobster, calamari, seabass and prawns.

A central island bar anchors the restaurant, which also has private dining areas and a curved staircase connecting the two levels. Cocktail consultant Dimi has designed drinks around the five-city theme, including Half Truths, made with tequila, mango and Thai chilli, and Guilty Until Proven Innocent, with coffee and hazelnut. Still Dancing, a non-alcoholic drink, combines pomegranate, molasses, coconut milk and basil.

Kadam said he aimed to retain each dish’s “original character” while bringing the five influences together on one menu.
