Kharghar residents can drop off old phones, laptops, chargers and cables — along with usable clothes and books — at a collection drive outside Beautiful Megamart near Shilp Chowk on Sunday, November 1.
The Rotary Club of Kharghar Midtown will run the drive from 11am to 1pm. It is accepting clean, usable clothes, bedsheets, blankets, linen, books and stationery, as well as electronic waste such as mobile phones, laptops, cables, chargers and other gadgets.
The club has also asked people to bring sarees in good condition in a separate bag. These will be distributed as festive gifts ahead of Diwali.
The collection is intended to keep reusable household items in circulation while directing donations to people who need them. Residents planning a clear-out can separate working electronics from general waste and bring only items fit for reuse or recycling to the Shilp Chowk collection point.
