Thane Commissioner Saurabh Rao reviewed Majiwada, Diva and rail projects, warning that contractors delivering substandard work could be blacklisted.
Thane Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao said contractors delivering substandard work could be blacklisted during a review of civic projects from Majiwada to Diva-Shil Road.
Rao asked officials and contractors handling Rajiv Gandhi Medical College’s relocation to Majiwada to complete technical requirements on time and avoid delays. At Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Majiwada, he reviewed renovation work, including medical-facility upgrades and oxygen pipelines, and directed Additional Commissioner Major Dr Nitin Rathod to inspect the site.
For the K. Villa Nullah bridge, officials said households affected by the project would be shifted to rental accommodation in Khopat before the next construction phase begins.
Rao also called for a coordination meeting with public representatives next week on rehabilitation linked to the proposed suburban railway station between Thane and Mulund. At Diva, he reviewed land acquisition and pending clearances for the railway flyover, as well as concreting and widening work on Diva-Shil Road.
He asked departments to meet project deadlines without compromising quality.
