CIDCO has GPS-tracked 34 water tankers and installed CCTV at 11 filling stations to monitor supply during shortages in Navi Mumbai.

CIDCO has put GPS trackers on all 34 water tankers supplying its Navi Mumbai nodes and installed CCTV cameras at 11 filling stations to monitor supply during the water shortage.

The corporation says it will use the systems to track tanker routes, verify delivery locations and maintain distribution records. A digital water-management portal combining GPS data with OTP-based access is under development. Until it is ready, staff are recording daily tanker movements and supply details on Google Sheets.

In Kalamboli, CIDCO is coordinating with the Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran on shortages and has raised regular supply requirements with the NMMC.

CIDCO has barred tanker water from being supplied to developers for construction or development work. It has also warned housing societies that it will stop supply if tanker water is used to fill swimming pools. Its vigilance department is examining complaints of irregularities in distribution and plans penalties where violations are confirmed.
