GBA’s Ward One drive to begin in 43 Bengaluru wards on November 1

The Greater Bengaluru Authority will deploy coordinated civic teams for garbage clearance, pothole filling and road repairs across 43 wards in the city’s five municipal corporations.

GBA’s Ward One drive begins on November 1 in 43 Bengaluru wards, targeting garbage, potholes, damaged roads, crossings and junctions.

Forty-three Bengaluru wards will be part of the Greater Bengaluru Authority’s Ward One drive from November 1, with teams tasked with clearing garbage, filling potholes and repairing damaged roads.

The initiative covers the city’s five municipal corporations: 12 wards in South City Corporation, 10 in the west, eight in the east, seven in the north and six in Central City Corporation. Pedestrian crossings and major junctions will receive particular attention.

Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda asked officials to coordinate with BESCOM, BWSSB, Metro and traffic police, among other agencies. He said the corporations must also remove overgrown vegetation and accumulated waste on railway and K-RIDE land.

The five corporation commissioners have been directed to prepare action plans, assign dedicated teams and involve residents and Resident Welfare Associations. Gowda also called for dedicated budget allocations for the work.
