Gautam Adani meets D.K. Shivakumar as Bengaluru tunnel road proposal awaits approval

Gautam Adani met D.K. Shivakumar at the Chief Minister’s residence on Sunday, August 23, as a proposed 16.75-km tunnel road between Hebbal and Silk Board awaits approval.

Shivakumar termed the meeting a courtesy visit. Government sources said it was unscheduled: Adani had attended a private function in Bengaluru South and dropped in while on his way to the airport.

The timing has drawn attention because Adani Enterprises is involved in the bidding for the tunnel-road proposal being pushed by Shivakumar. One account described the company as the lowest bidder for the project, while another identified it as an interested bidder.

For Bengaluru residents, the proposal concerns a planned road link between Hebbal and Silk Board, two major traffic corridors. The project is still awaiting a government decision.
