Sector 72 residents seek durable road repairs and regular waste collection

Residents of Gurugram’s Sector 72 say potholes, dumped waste, broken streetlights and monsoon waterlogging are disrupting daily life around key connecting roads.

Sector 72 residents report damaged roads, waterlogging and waste near Tulip Chowk; MCG says it can clear reported dumping points.

A five-minute trip can stretch to an hour during the monsoon on parts of Gurugram’s Sector 72, residents say, as waterlogging and damaged roads affect routes towards the Southern Peripheral Road, Sohna Road and Golf Course Extension Road.

Navneet Nayyar, a retired insurance company employee who lives in the sector, pointed to potholes on the revenue road from SPR towards Fazilpur, including stretches near Sixth Element School, Tata Primanti gates 4, 5 and 6, and Intellion Edge. Residents said patchwork carried out a few weeks ago deteriorated after rainfall.

Priyanka Jha, a middle-school teacher and resident, said there was no proper waste-disposal facility between Tatvam Villa and Fazilpur. She said waste had piled up there and was being burnt. Residents also reported irregular waste collection, non-functional streetlights, construction dust and poorly maintained green belts.

Residents said waste from the vegetable market near Airia Mall was moved between collection sites near Tata Primanti before accumulating near Tulip Chowk. The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram said residents can report uncleared waste, and that it can clear garbage-vulnerable points and act against those responsible for prolonged dumping.
