MCG plans 2,480 streetlights on 19 Gurugram roads. Residents can suggest roads for consideration in a second phase.

Medanta Road’s footpath has received new streetlights as the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram begins a wider plan to install 2,480 lights across 19 city roads.

The first phase includes 2,050 lights along footpaths on 10 stretches. These include routes from Huda City Centre to Signature Chowk, Golf Course Extension Road, Bakhtawar Singh Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk to Bakhtawar Chowk, Mayfield Garden to the Southern Peripheral Road, and Park Hospital Chowk to the SPR.

MCG also plans 430 lights on the central verges of nine roads. These include sector-dividing roads between Sectors 45 and 46, 45 and 53, 51, 52 and 57, and 53 and 56. Gurugram University Road and the Sector 51-46 dividing road are also included.

MCG officials said poor lighting on these stretches has affected visibility and made travel difficult after dark. The corporation has invited residents to suggest additional roads for consideration in the second phase.
