NDMC Tiranga Yatra draws 6,000 people in Connaught Place

NDMC said around 6,000 students, employees and residents walked one loop of Connaught Place’s Inner Circle on Monday during its Tiranga Yatra.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta flagged off the march from Janpath Radial at the Inner Circle. Students and teachers from NDMC schools joined parents, resident welfare association representatives, market association representatives and other participants, who carried the Tricolour and raised patriotic slogans.

NDMC vice-chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal said the route completed one round of the Inner Circle before the event concluded. Gupta said the yatra formed part of a broader resolve towards “building a Viksit Bharat” and spoke about young people’s role in education, innovation, technology, manufacturing and artificial intelligence.

NDMC held the event under its Har Ghar Tiranga-2026 campaign, which encourages residents to display the national flag during the celebrations.
