BMC demolished 26 of 27 commercial units on a Borivali East plot reserved for a BEST bus station under Town Planning Scheme-II.

Twenty-six commercial units had been demolished by Wednesday morning as the BMC cleared a Borivali East plot reserved for a BEST bus station.

The 3,400-square-metre site on Swami Vivekanand Road falls under Town Planning Scheme-II and is recorded as CTS No. 15 and Final Plot No. 7B. Twenty-seven commercial units were on the reserved land; one remained at the time of the update.

Engineers from the BMC’s R-Central ward are supervising the operation, with about 70 labourers and staff deployed. Two JCB machines and four dumpers are being used to demolish the structures and remove debris.

Police personnel were posted at the site during the drive. The land is marked for a BEST bus station.
