Greater Noida deploys 224 anti-smog guns under GRAP

The Greater Noida Authority has assigned pollution-monitoring officers across 21 zones and begun dust-control work at construction sites and public areas.

Greater Noida has deployed 224 anti-smog guns, 107 water tankers and 11 sweepers as GRAP remains in force across NCR.

Greater Noida has put 224 anti-smog guns into service, including 216 at construction sites and eight at other public places, as it steps up dust-control measures under GRAP.

The Greater Noida Authority has divided the city into 21 monitoring zones, with a senior officer and a manager-level assistant officer assigned to each. Its teams are using 107 water tankers to sprinkle water at construction sites, wash trees and settle road dust. Eleven mechanical sweeping machines have also been deployed for road cleaning.

Officials said work-circle teams will flag dust and garbage issues to the concerned vendors, arrange waste lifting and watch for garbage burning. The Authority said its project, health and horticulture departments are involved in the drive, alongside enforcement action.

Residents can report garbage burning on 0120-2336046, 0120-2336047, 0120-2336048 or 0120-2336049, or through the Authority’s Mitra App.
