Noida scholarship portal review flags inactive school entries

A review of school data on the scholarship portal has found gaps in Gautam Budh Nagar’s records. Of 175 schools listed on the pre-matric scholarship portal for Classes 9 and 10, only about 60 entries were active, education department officials said.

The post-matric portal showed a similar mismatch: about 55 of the 133 schools listed for Classes 11 and 12 had active entries. Officials also identified duplicate logins for some institutions.

Schools have been asked to verify their records and submit documents related to inactive portal entries and duplicate accounts to the district social welfare office within three days. District Inspector of Schools Chandra Shekhar said the department would conduct a detailed verification and remove inactive and duplicate entries.

Officials have also flagged schools that have not uploaded details of eligible students. Delays could hold up scholarship payments. Principals or headmasters may face action under applicable rules if required student information is not submitted, officials said.
