Gurgaon residents may burst certified green crackers only on November 7 and 8, from 6am to 7am and 8pm to 10pm.

Gurgaon has restored temporary green-cracker sale licences until November 6. Certified crackers may be used on November 7 and 8 only during specified hours and away from silence zones.

Gurgaon has restored temporary licences for green cracker sellers from November 4 to 6, allowing sales only through authorised outlets and traders licensed by the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation.

Residents may use only National Environmental Engineering Research Institute-certified green crackers on November 7 and 8, between 6am and 7am and again from 8pm to 10pm. Bursting crackers remains barred within 300 metres of hospitals, nursing homes, health centres, old-age homes, educational institutions and other notified silence zones.

Barium-containing crackers, products not certified as green crackers, and cracker chains or laris are prohibited. The deputy commissioner said prohibited stock found with shops, traders or individuals will be seized.

District and sub-divisional inspection teams will check QR codes and products against NEERI’s approved list, and may send samples to PESO for testing. The administration and police have been asked to monitor sale locations and permitted timings, while the Haryana State Pollution Control Board’s Gurgaon office will track and upload air-quality data. Licences or registrations can be cancelled for manufacturing or selling prohibited products.
