Road, stormwater-drain and footpath work in Gurgaon’s Industrial Development Colony has left some lanes uneven and unpaved. MCG is targeting completion by December.
Road, drain and footpath work in Gurgaon’s Industrial Development Colony is under way, with MCG putting road work at 60-70% complete and targeting December.
Broken stretches, loose soil and construction debris are making daily travel difficult in Gurgaon’s Industrial Development Colony, particularly for two-wheeler riders and pedestrians.
The work includes road resurfacing, stormwater drains and footpaths. Sumit Rao, president of the Gurgaon Industrial Association, said bikes and autorickshaws had toppled on uneven portions. He said water and sludge can make some stretches unusable. The area also includes the district registrar’s office, where visitors arrive for RWA and housing-society work.
Businesses have urged faster completion before winter pollution-control restrictions affect construction. The association said work has been under way since around February-March.
Municipal Corporation Gurugram said monsoon conditions had slowed activity earlier but that work has since picked up. An official said drainage work was 80-90% complete and road work 60-70% complete. The formal deadline is January 2027, though the civic body is targeting December. It also plans water sprinkling on unpaved portions to reduce dust.
